MCTS Tracker itself does not use your identifying information in any way, and does not transmit from your device any data up to and including: stops visited, routes planned, favorites, location information used to generate nearby stop info, or any other in-app data that you could think of or generate, subject to the few minor caveats listed below.
All recent stop info and favorites data is created and stored entirely local to your device, and has not and will not ever be transmitted or stored elsewhere.
Stops visited are only shared with the Milwaukee County Transit System, and only because we have to tell them the stop number in order to find out the relevant info for it - no way around that.
Analytics were previously recorded, but they were entirely anonymous and were only for tracking the installed app version. They are no longer collected and have not been collected for years.
MCTS Tracker does however use Google's AdMob SDK to serve advertisements that might be relevant to you. AdMob uses an advertising identifier on the device, that is not tied to the specific user in any way, but rather a profile of the user's browsing interests. To opt out of this collection, please check the Ad ID Opt-Out setting in the app, and Google promises to not collect the advertising identifier. MCTS Tracker on Android uses Google Maps and, in some older versions, the Google Routes and Google Places services. By using MCTS Tracker, you agree to and are bound by the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, and the the aforementioned Google privacy policy.
You should also be aware of the Milwaukee County Transit System's privacy policy, which you agree to and are bound by upon using the MCTS Tracker app. When the MCTS Tracker app makes requests for information to the county transit system info service, in addition to details like the requested stop number, your devices' IP address will be sent as part of the request as well; in the spirit of full transparency, according to the the MCTS' privacy policy, your IP address may be collected by them for 'administration purposes', though will never be used to track a user's session (which probably means they're just keeping it temporarily as a form of security logging, ie to try and identify a culprit of a potential DDOS attack). The MCTS Tracker app itself is not logging or storing your IP address in any way at any time, though by visiting this web site, your IP address may be logged.
Finally, the makers of this app are not affiliated with the Milwaukee Country Transit System (MCTS) in any way, and this app is not endorsed or supported by the MCTS. The appearance of MCTS in the app's name is purely used for descriptive purposes rather than to imply any sort of official linkage between the app or its makers and the MCTS.
